Date: Sunday, October 27, 2024
Location: Unitarian Congregation - 84 S Service Rd, Mississauga, ON L5G 2R9
Time: 7:30 PM
Join actor, poet, and musician Roula Said for an intimate and powerful evening of storytelling, poetry, and song. In "Reach My Heart Across the Veil," Roula shares excerpts from her one-woman show, 40 Days, a poignant reflection on life, loss, and connection inspired by the mystical presence of her father, who passed away when she was just an infant.
Through heartfelt storytelling, Roula invites you to journey with her as she reaches across the veil to connect with her father and honor the souls of her people and the land. This ceremonial performance will feature Palestinian poems, including works by Hiba Abu Nada, Fady Joudah, and Mahmoud Darwish, interwoven with Roula's original songs in both English and Arabic.
In this solemn time, Roula's performance offers a space for collective grief, respect, and love. Audience members will be invited to participate in this moving experience, creating a shared moment of remembrance and connection.
