Join PAMA and Maple Arts on a wistful and magical evening featuring members of the Canadian Arabic Orchestra and a selection of some of the most memorable songs played on the Oud. The Oud is considered one of the oldest instruments still in use today. Depictions of the Oud have been found in drawings in Ancient Mesopotamia and Pharaohs have been found buried with their favourite Ouds. European music had an awakening of its own after the Oud made its way there as the Lute. Modern Arabic music has been shaped by unforgettable Oud players and their performances.
انضموا إلى متحف بيل للفنون (PAMA) ومجموعة مبل آرتس في أمسية حالمة وساحرة، بمشاركة أعضاء من الأوركسترا العربية الكندية، وتقديم مجموعة من أشهر وأجمل المقطوعات الموسيقية التي عُزفت على آلة العود.
يُعد العود من أقدم الآلات الموسيقية التي لا تزال مستخدمة حتى اليوم، حيث ظهرت رسومات له في حضارات بلاد الرافدين القديمة، وعُثر على فراعنة دُفنوا مع أعوادهم المفضلة. وقد ساهم العود، بعد انتقاله إلى أوروبا حيث عُرف باسم "اللوت"، في إحداث نهضة موسيقية هناك.
لقد أسهم عدد من أعلام الموسيقى العربية الحديثة في تشكيل ملامحها من خلال عزفهم المؤثر على العود، مما جعله رمزًا فنيًا خالدًا في التراث الموسيقي العربي.
